New entry and exit points to Hessa Street opened in October 2016 as part of a roads improvement scheme. JVC remains a community with completed homes alongside projects under construction and at the design stage.
JVC is primarily car-oriented and has road links to central Dubai corridors. From JVC, Dubai Marina is 7.3 km away, Palm Jumeirah is 9.3 km away, JBR Beach is 8.0 km away and Mall of the Emirates is 6.9 km away. Downtown Dubai is 17.0 km away, while Dubai Mall is 17.3 km away. Dubai International Airport is 27.0 km away and Al Maktoum International Airport is 18.4 km away. The nearest Dubai Metro Red Line station, R34, is 6,139 metres from central JVC locations. Road travel times vary by traffic and route; Dubai Mall is stated at 21 minutes by car, while Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina can take 20 minutes.
The wider JVC area contains 367 projects. Housing in the community ranges from apartment blocks to townhouses and villas, with construction and new services continuing across different districts. Circle Mall was planned with 235 shops, an anchor supermarket, two department stores, a multi-screen cinema, health clinic, cafés, restaurants and a food court. By July 2020, the mall had topped out and its façade was partly complete. JVC also includes nearby residential and mixed-use developments such as Botanica, 10 Oxford, Aurion Residence, Sky Harmony, Al Serh Residences 11, One Sky Park 2, Reflections Tower and U Tower.
