The nearest Dubai Metro station is on the Red Line, 9,071 metres from the site. A Blue Line metro route and station are planned for the corridor between Phase 2 and Phase 3.

Neighbourhood development

International City 2 is in an early stage of development, with newly released land parcels, mid- and low-rise residential neighbourhoods and a central area designated for taller towers. Roads and pavements have been installed along most streets, while landscaping, planted greenery and public open spaces are being established under the staged masterplan. District infrastructure works include roads, district cooling, power and communications networks, water distribution, sewerage, fire services and irrigation. The community also has grocery and retail outlets in operation. The varied architectural character reflects the sale of land parcels to private developers rather than a single uniform building style.
