The district contains low- to mid-rise apartment buildings, townhouses and villas, with construction activity and new district-level services continuing across the community. By mid-2020, 235 towers or townhouse rows had been completed in JVC, with 110 under construction at that time. The wider JVC area includes 367 projects. The community is positioned near the junction of Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road and has internal neighbourhoods and villa clusters.
Jumeirah Village Circle is primarily car-oriented and has road connections to major Dubai corridors. Entry and exit points to Hessa Street opened in October 2016 as part of a roads improvement scheme. The nearest Dubai Metro Red Line station, R34, is 6,139 metres from central JVC locations. The district sits near Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road, providing road access towards central Dubai, Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah and Mall of the Emirates. Nakheel is the master developer of Jumeirah Village Circle and launched the community in 2005. The district has been developed in phases over many years, with infrastructure, housing and services continuing to be delivered. Circle Mall was planned as a retail destination with 235 shops, an anchor supermarket, two department stores, a multi-screen cinema, a health clinic, cafés, restaurants and a food court. By July 2020, Circle Mall had topped out and its façade was partly complete. JVC also contains a mix of apartment buildings, townhouse rows and villa clusters across its six districts.
