Dubai Promenade was planned as a high-rise residential and retail community located at the northern entrance of Dubai Marina. The development aimed to offer pedestrian walkways, panoramic sea views, and a natural beach setting. Extensive land reclamation was carried out in early 2008, creating a peninsula extending into the sea using large volumes of sand and rock.
Despite ambitious plans including a distinctive wheel-shaped hotel, the main project did not progress beyond the concept phase. The area remains largely undeveloped, with the eastern section currently hosting a skydiving facility since 2013. The original development plans for Dubai Promenade have been officially cancelled.
