Contract A is the agreement between a property owner and a real estate agency for marketing the property for sale. The agency registers it with the Dubai Land Department (DLD), and the owner approves it online using a signing link from DLD. Below are the steps for the owner.
How the owner signs Contract A
- Follow the signing link — it must begin with
https://dubailand.gov.ae. - Click the “Get Token” button — one-time passwords will be sent to the email address and telephone number registered to the owner.
- Enter the received one-time password.
- Check the contract preview that opens: broker’s name, apartment number, contract amount, commission amount and term.
- Scroll to the end of the document, tick “read” and click “Approve”.
A signed Contract A is not a sale and purchase agreement — it is an agreement for the agency’s marketing activities.
If something goes wrong
- If the link does not begin with
https://dubailand.gov.ae, do not enter any codes — ask your agent to resend the link. - If any details in the preview are wrong, do not click “Approve” — ask your agent to correct the contract first.
- If the one-time password does not arrive, the email or phone number in the DLD records may be out of date. See the memo on Contracts A, B and F for how owner details are updated.
- To end the agreement later, see How to cancel Contract A in Dubai.
