D3 Creative Community is a district of Dubai, 3.0 km from Burj Khalifa / Dubai Mall Metro Station.
D3 Creative Community is a dedicated creative quarter within Dubai Design District (D3). Conceived as a compact, flexible campus for makers and studios, the scheme was designed by Foster & Partners and planned to provide workshop, gallery and boutique retail space for a large creative population. The masterplan emphasises modular, cube-shaped units linked into a single ensemble, alongside a year-round calendar of events to activate streets and public spaces.
D3 Creative Community is a one million square foot development inside Dubai Design District. The concept targets arts, crafts and design activities, creating workspaces for designers, artists and craftspeople alongside small-scale retail and exhibition venues.
The development was envisioned as a neighbourhood of hundreds of flexible cube units connected to form streets, courtyards and workshop clusters. Inspired by established international creative hubs, its layout and mix of uses were intended to create a lively precinct for production, display and events within D3.

D3 Creative Community is served by the Dubai Metro Red Line, with station R25 approximately 3,022 metres away. Secondary transport is useful for completing the journey.

The Creative Community spans about one million square feet. Foster & Partners prepared the original design concept, which emphasised modular, cube-shaped units connected to form a cohesive creative campus. The scheme included workshops, galleries, studios and boutique retail outlets organised to support production and display activities.
Phase One was scheduled for delivery in 2016, with the wider development scheduled for completion in 2018. The masterplan was designed to accommodate more than 6,000 designers, artists and craftspeople, while a year-round events programme was intended to bring exhibitions, shows and cultural activity to the neighbourhood.
The design drew inspiration from international creative districts including New York’s Meatpacking District and Shoreditch in London. Its focus was on a blend of light-industrial-style workshops, display spaces and retail frontages that encourages visitor circulation.

D3 Creative Community is primarily suited to creative professionals and small creative enterprises. The concept envisaged designers, makers, artisans and small studios requiring flexible workspace, display areas and proximity to like-minded practitioners.
