Dubai International City is a distinctive residential and commercial district located in Dubai, positioned between interchanges 5 and 6 of Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311). The community is uniquely organized into clusters, each themed after different countries such as England, Russia, Italy, Spain, France, Persia, Greece, Morocco, China, and the Emirates, reflecting their architectural styles.
The clusters encircle the Central Business District, which features larger apartments with enhanced amenities including swimming pools and gyms. The area comprises 485 apartment buildings across nine residential districts and the business hub, catering primarily to low and middle-income residents with relatively affordable rental rates.
A major attraction is the Chinese Dragon Mart, a 1.2-kilometer-long retail complex housing nearly 4,000 shops. It is recognized as one of the largest trading centers for Chinese products outside mainland China, offering a wide range of goods from home essentials to electronics and fashion. An extension, Dragon Mart 2, adds nearly 1,000 shops, dining options, entertainment venues, a large hypermarket, a 12-screen cinema, and a hotel.
Residents should note that the proximity to the Al Aweer Sewage Treatment Plant can cause noticeable odors, especially near the eastern side of the community. Traffic congestion during peak hours is also common due to limited road capacity.
