The UAE Expo 2020 Pavilion, located in the Opportunity District, is an architectural marvel designed to symbolize movement and innovation. Spanning 15,000 square meters, the pavilion stands 27.8 meters tall and features a unique roof composed of 28 wings that open and close within three minutes.
These wings are equipped with photovoltaic panels that generate solar energy, which is fed back into the main power grid when open. When closed, the wings protect the panels from harsh weather conditions such as rain and sandstorms.
Inside, the pavilion houses a grand faceted sphere containing an auditorium with seating for 200 people. The auditorium is designed to elevate the audience between floors, offering immersive audio-visual experiences. The shaded arcade surrounding the pavilion provides a welcoming space for visitors, making it a key attraction within the Opportunity District.
